Nader Heydari

Nader Heydari is local Conejo Valley product, having graduated from Westlake High School. He then studied Civil Engineering in college, earning his Bachelors at Cal Poly SLO and then continued at Stanford University, earning his Masters in Engineering Management. He is also a California Registered Professional Engineer, and in addition he is a Certified Construction Manager, LEED AP Green Building Professional.

He is currently the City Engineer and Deputy Public Works Director for the City of Thousand Oaks, overseeing a team of 50 Engineering, Project Management, Sustainability, Transit and Emergency Operations Divisions. He has previously successfully managed large project teams through the design, engineering, construction & operation of challenging infrastructure programs across the USA as design engineer, design/builder, owner, contractor, project manager and construction manager.

City Engineer

  • Design, construct, and manage: streets and roadways, sidewalks, bike paths, traffic signals and traffic operations center, undergrounding utilities, water network and reservoirs, wastewater collection and treatment, buildings, and structures.

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering comes from a school approved by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology, Internships from the locals public agencies and the American Public Works Association or the American Senior Civil Engineers, and passing of the State and National Professional Engineering Exam.
